Clearview Mediation and Coaching

Meet the team

Who is Clear View?

We are an alliance comprising Neil Sykes, a Mediator and lead Coach, and Julie-Ann Burger, Accredited Mediator, and qualified family law solicitor, who between them have over 50 years’ experience in understanding complex legal situations and a proven track record in helping families.

Neil and Julie-Ann first met through the mediation arena and realised their shared skills sets, work ethic and genuine desire to help people could aid families who may need a helping hand.

Neil

Neil is a dad to two daughters and since 2017 has vast experience of helping families navigate the challenges that separation can bring at any stage of their journey.

Neil trained as a family mediator and is accredited by the Family Mediation Council for “All issues” mediations, as well as Clear View’s Lead coach.

Some of those individuals and couples he has helped since 2017 have said they would have never successfully dealt with their own situation without his guidance.

That inspired Neil to leave his challenging yet rewarding 20-year public sector job to devote his time to becoming a Family Mediator and Separation Coach.

Neil specialises in working one-to-one with people to help them achieve a better divorce settlement and a child arrangement plan, while limiting the long term financial and emotional cost to parents and their children.

He focuses on pragmatism – every situation is different, but realism and avoidance of unnecessary conflict will be at the heart of every resolution.

That means facts and clear information rather than emotions while getting you through the process faster, smoother and in a far more cost-effective way.

Julie-Ann

Julie-Ann qualified as a Solicitor in 1990 and has practised extensively in Family Law.

This includes financial remedies, relationship disputes, pre and post-nuptial issues and children’s arrangements.

She is a trained collaborative lawyer and longstanding member of Resolution, which is a community of 6,500 family justice professionals committed to resolving family disputes in an amicable and non-contentious way.

To widen her expertise and to further promote a non-combative approach to achieving family solutions, she trained as a family mediator in 2012 and is accredited by the Family Mediation Council for “All issues” mediation.

She is qualified to consult directly with children for child inclusive mediation. She is also a professional practice consultant supervising other mediators in their practices.

Julie-Ann’s approach is either remotely or face to face and has clients locally and as far away as America and the Netherlands.
